Today we cannot spend a day without checking our computers, tablets, and smartphones. The technology forced us to stay connected and look at screens for a prolonged duration, which can affect our health, especially if there is not enough light around. You may have heard about a monitor with a low-light setup, which based on controlling the amount of blue light emitted by the screen. Blue light allows to improve viewing angles in bright sunlight, but at night (or low light) it can cause brain fatigue. It makes your brain cells confuse this light with normal daylight.
Prolonged exposure to blue light provokes mental fatigue, may ruin your normal sleep cycle, cause eye strain, and overall has a negative effect on your health. That is why a so-called “night mode” or dark mode was invented. It is probably available on your smartphone and tablet. Also, some apps and services added this mode to their arsenal of features. Should you enable this mode, and the effect of blue light will be drastically reduced in a low-light environment. Also, the dark mode is popular among digital readers and content watchers as it creates a nice ambient environment, comfortable for eyes. No wonder that YouTube also added a night mode for those who enjoy watching videos in the dark but don’t want to strain their eyes. No matter what web browser you are using – Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Firefox – you can activate this mode right now. Read on, and we will explain how.
